SNOW GEESE

These are pictures of Snow Geese that my friend Barbara took. They are migrating north, and stopped by American Falls to eat for a few days before heading to Mud Lake. They will end up in the Arctic. The round trip for some is more than 5000 miles, and they can fly at speeds of up to 50 MPH.

PHEASANTS IN FLIGHT

These pheasants have been hanging around all winter. There are about seven females and three males. I love to see them and I have been feeding them grain. Today they were under one of my apple trees foraging for food. They get scared very easily, I was lucky to get these pictures.

HERE'S PROOF

Well, here is the proof, racoon tracks.

Here is where he was eating the grain I put out for the pheasants.

USE YOUR IMAGINATION

Okay, so this picture just looks black, right??? Well if you look closer and use your imagination, you can see a racoon eating the grain I put out today for the pheasants. It was 1:00 am and I didn't use a flash. I thought the moon and reflective light from the snow would help but as you can see, not much. This is the first time I have seen a racoon, it was kind of cool.
